I am an artist, researcher, and educator whose work is informed by my curiosity and critical engagements with human interactions in their environments: natural, cultural, and constructed. I am currently a PhD Candidate in Gepgraphy at the University of British Columbia. My interdisciplinary practice involves fibres, textiles, sound, and installation, and connects with a research and writing practice. I am interested in how people respond to the environment and their landbase through material practices, specifically weaving. I weave with invasive plants, cast-offs from industrial wool production, and with raw sheep fleece. Using these materials I engage with the complex relationships I have with landscapes, colonialism, and the social production of space through an embodied practice. A large part of my practice is community collaboration through residencies and facilitating workshops.
